Potholing – Best Done with Hydrovac

electrical lines underground potholing bury cables

Potholing can often be a hard task for several reasons. As it is usually done in order to uncover utility lines and other underground structures that need fixing or changing, potholing requires the drilling of a hole from the surface all the way down to where the issue might be. This usually takes a lot of time and effort. It can also be an inconvenience for many people and businesses, who might be affected by the buildup of traffic. Fortunately, this doesn’t have to be the case if you use hydrovac.

Hydrovac technology is perfect for potholing, especially in crowded spaces. This is primarily because it  requires a much smaller space than traditional drilling. Granted, you’ll have to have somewhere to place the truck, and a way to connect it to a water supply. Other than that, you are ready to start the job.

Also, potholing usually creates quite a mess. When doing it with a hydrovac, that isn’t an issue any more. This is because the entire system is self-contained and doesn’t require much intervention from the people next to it. It can therefore operate quickly and mess-free. That’s a great advantage when potholing  in areas with heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
